State Senate Majority Whip Mallory McMorrow has suspended her campaign to be the Democratic nominee for Michigan’s vacant US Senate seat.

McMorrow has fallen significantly in recent polling, leading to a statewide scandal after her campaign tried to suppress a Mitchell poll showing her with only 6 percent support.

McMorrow did not endorse any of the remaining candidates in the primary, instead choosing to train her fire on presumptive Republican nominee Mike Rogers.

“Every day through November 3rd. We win this Senate seat and send Mike Rogers back to Florida for good. Whoever wins this primary on August 4th will have my full support”, she said on X.

McMorrow began her campaign on a high note and even led in some early primary polls, but she began losing traction as opposing candidates such as progressive Abdul El-Sayed gained national attention and notoriety.

She also fell in primary polling after a trove of controversial past social media statements were unearthed where she disparaged the state of Michigan and rural voters.

In one post, McMorrow agreed with the sentiment that rural voters could learn from coastal elites.

‘I‘m from the rural Midwest. All this talk about coastal elites needing to understand more of America has it backwards.’, the X post read.

‘I’m from rural New Jersey. This ranks 100%.’ she replied.

With McMorrow out of the race, the field has narrowed to moderate Congresswoman Haley Stevens and El-Sayed.

While there is now a question of which candidate will receive the lion’s share of McMorrow’s support, El-Sayed leads in recent primary polling, with the progressive having an edge in nine out of ten recent polls.
