A war of infighting has emerged between moderate Democrats and Democrat Socialists in the swing state of Michigan. Grand Rapids Congresswoman Hillary Scholten blasted socialist streamer Hasan Piker, saying, “Hasan Piker’s calls for violence against American Jews, and directly naming a Michigan elected official, Jeremy Moss…are unacceptable. Full Stop.”

Jeremy Moss is the Michigan State Senate Pro Tempore and Michigan’s 10th District Democrat Congressional Nominee. This Congressional seat is relatively safe for Democrats. If elected, Jeremy Moss would replace Pro-Israel Congresswoman Haley Stevens. Jeremy Moss is Jewish and is a board member of Congregation Beth Ahm.

On a Twitch livestream, Hasan Piker said: “If Jews in America keep putting this idea out there that they are singularly invested in Israel, eventually someone’s going to come around and take action, not against the state of Israel, mind you, but against American Jews.” As he said this, he had a picture of Michigan’s 10th District Democratic nominee, Jeremy Moss, on screen.

Abdul El-Sayed, who hosted Hasan Piker for two different campaign events, did not condemn Hasan’s comments. El-Sayed’s opponent, Mike Rogers, did. He said, “Hasan Piker’s call for violence…must be condemned by every single Michigan Democrat.”

Hasan Piker took to X and called Hillary Scholten “Israel First” and accused her of having an affair. Hillary Scholten ended the debate with this message: “Not Hasan Piker daydreaming about BEING me. As if. Keep dreaming, pal. There’s only one of us hurting the chances of a Democratic majority in November…and it ain’t me! Currently, Hillary Scholten has yet to commit to voting for her party’s Senate nominee, Abdul-El Sayed, in November. When asked about voting for Abdul by Semafor, she said: “I will not stand beside someone who has allowed distinctly anti-American sentiment to enter our public dialogue.”
